launch nncron task from links in swf or javascript?

Postby dl » Wed, 22 Feb 2006, 19:30

Is it possible to launch an nncron task from a flash link, browser link, or javascript function?

This would allow an executable (e.g. notepad.exe) to be started from link in flash movie embedded in HTML browser page.

yes. just examine the nnCron command line options. especially the

-run task-name
and
-runfile <filename>

"Starting a Task" at

http://www.nncron.ru/help/EN/working/ta ... tm#runfile

explains these options ..
    Starting a Task Manually from nnCron GUI
    Starting a Task from Command Line
    Calling a Task from Another Task
    Running a Task as a Separate Script

It does not explain
    Starting a Task from Javascript
    Starting a Task from HTML link

i.e.

How to launch a Task from Javascript or HTML link in browser?

The nearest I can find is executing a DOS batch file from a PHP script using exec(); the DOS batch file containing the nncron -runfile command line ..

<?php
exec(runcrontask.bat);
?>

...

Later edit ..

This ActiveX control .. launchinie .. from

http://www.whirlywiryweb.com/q/launchinie.asp

allows a link in IE browser to launch a program or bat file (which can run nncron command line) .. but it does not work in Firefox browser.
