Postby Sune » Sun, 22 Jan 2006, 17:35

Valery_Kondakoff: I'm having the same problem, is there any way at all of running nnCron Lite as a service on windows server 2003? I've tried through FireDaemon too, but it also loads it under the system account.

Is there any permissions i can modify or anything?

2 Sune: AFAIK there are no problems with running nnCron (LITE) on Win2003 locally. You can run nnCron (LITE) as a system service or as an ordinary application.

Please, describe your problem more clearly, so I can try to help you.

Thanks!

Thank you for your prompt reply.

The problem is the same as the guy who posted this topic - no tasks were being run and nothing was put in the logfile, as long as it ran under the system account. It worked fine started with the administrator account and the -ns option you mentioned.

I managed to solve the issue bye reconfiguring the "cron" windows service, by changing it from running as system to the administrator account.

See http://www.nncron.ru/nncronlt/help/EN/w ... nncron.htm for an info how to change the nnCron LITE service user account.

I'm having a similar problem on WinXP Home sp2.

I run the nncron service with my username, but no icon in the tray, unfortunately. The tray icon is very useful, but there are certain tasks that I can't seem to run without using my username for the service...

Has this been dealt with in a way I didn't discover or is it still an issue?

Just to add, I'm not sure I even need to be running the service with my username... but I have some apparent authorization problems, that I'll post in its own thread unless I figure it out
