Internal error, Error # -1073741819 ??

Postby LuckMan212 » Mon, 25 Jul 2005, 00:24

Hello,
I recently updated to nnCron 1.91b12 build 1058. Now I am getting some strange errors in my log and on screen (popup alert).

Code: Select all
02:00:49 4040 CLASSIC-TASK-#-EventLog_Filter: Internal error. The handle is invalid.
03:06:19 3708 CLASSIC-TASK-#-EventLog_Filter: Internal error. Error # -1073741819
17:16:17 1660 CLASSIC-TASK-#-EventLog_Filter: Internal error. Error # -1073741819

these errors are coming from the following task, which used to be working fine:

Code: Select all
#( CLASSIC-TASK-#-EventLog_Filter
WatchEventLog: "System"

VARIABLE event_list
CREATE myFilterFile 256 ALLOT S" filtered_events.txt" myFilterFile ZPLACE
CREATE filterSource 256 ALLOT
CREATE filterLine 256 ALLOT
VARIABLE filterID

Rule: FILE-EXIST: "%myFilterFile ASCIIZ>%" FILE-EMPTY: "%myFilterFile ASCIIZ>%" NOT AND ;

: user_click
   0 S" mmc.exe %systemroot%\system32\eventvwr.msc" GUIStartApp
;
: EVALUATE-WITH ( ( i*x c-addr u xt -- j*x )
  SOURCE-ID >R TIB >R #TIB @ >R >IN @ >R
  -1 TO SOURCE-ID
  SWAP #TIB ! SWAP TO TIB >IN 0!
  ( ['] INTERPRET) CATCH
  R> >IN ! R> #TIB ! R> TO TIB R> TO SOURCE-ID
  THROW ;
: parse-evt-line [CHAR] , PARSE filterSource ZPLACE 1 PARSE S>NUM filterID ! ;
Action:
FOR-NEW-EVENTS
    myFilterFile ASCIIZ> R/O OPEN-FILE-SHARED THROW event_list !
    BEGIN filterLine 255 event_list @ READ-LINE THROW WHILE
      filterLine SWAP ['] parse-evt-line EVALUATE-WITH
      FOUND-EVENT evSourceName ASCIIZ> filterSource ASCIIZ> WC-MATCH
      FOUND-EVENT evEventID W@ filterID @ = AND
      IF
          ." EventLog : " FOUND-EVENT evSourceName ASCIIZ> TYPE ." ," FOUND-EVENT evEventID W@ . CR
          2 BalloonIcon !
          ['] user_click OnBalloonClick !
          BALLOON: "%FOUND-EVENT evSourceName ASCIIZ>% (%FOUND-EVENT evEventID W@%)" "%FOUND-EVENT evStrings2String%"
          PAUSE: 5000
          BALLOON: "" ""
      THEN
    REPEAT
    DROP
    event_list @ CLOSE-FILE DROP
;FOR-NEW-EVENTS
)#

any ideas what might be wrong?
thanks :)

also I am getting this error in my nncron.out file

Code: Select all
UPTIME isn't unique

I think this may be conflict with time.spf or signature.spf plugin? :?:

As of the errors - most of them are described in nnCron FAQ. You should debug your task to understand - what is going wrong. It seems some non-existant file (or smth like this) is used.

As of the UPTIME: do you have a task called 'UPTIME' in your crontabs?

well actually this task is exact copy of the task that Nikolas made for me in the other thread. Except for I added the BalloonClick handler. I am only telling you because this task worked fine under nnCron 1.91b12 build 1050-1051. These errors only started when I updated to build 1058. :cry:
in FAQ I find:
Code: Select all
'<task_name>: Internal error. Error # -1073741819'
   - serious error: improper Forth words usage or program malfunction.

Well so far I have fixed the problem by adding "SingleInstance" to the task. I think maybe(?) that the file handle was being closed by the task while another instance of it was still reading from it :shock: . I am not sure. All I know is that this task work fine in previous builds, but maybe some internal changes make it more strict in the requirements.

No I have no such task in any of my crontabs. I even did an exhaustive search in my nnCron folder for any file containing the word "UPTIME" and the only files that came up were:
Code: Select all
nncron.out
signature.spf
time.spf

so this UPTIME one is still mystery....

Ah... I know what is wrong: just place the line 'INCLUDE "plugins\signature.spf"' after the line 'INCLUDE "plugins\time.spf"' in your nncron.ini to get rid of the UPTIME issue.

I will not rename the plugins, but you can freely do this. Just rename your local signature.spf to tsignature.spf (or anything you like) and don't forget to change the name in nncron.ini.

Valery,
sadly even after adding
Code: Select all
SingleInstance
I am still getting these -1073741819 errors when this task runs.

As I said before I really never changed my crontab since changing from build 1051 to 1058, all of a sudden these errors started appearing.

can you please examine my task to see if there really are any syntax errors or if this may be a new bug that was introduced in the most recent beta?

thanks I appreciate it! :roll:
