HINT-COLOR bug

Postby LuckMan212 » Thu, 08 Sep 2005, 04:36

hello,
nncron v 1.91b12 Build 1058 21.07.2005

there exists a small bug in the HINT-COLOR function. For example, this following code, which will show a Hint window at startup:
Code: Select all
#( hint_test
RunOnce
NoDel
Time: START-TIME
0x000000 0x5555FF HINT-COLOR
HINT: "This should be red text on black background"
)#

the actual Hint is shown with the default (light-yellow) background. I assume that the function thinks that a "zero" parameter (000000) should be interpreted as "use the default" but in this case I actually want the black background...

1) You can use smth like 0x010101 as a temporary workaround (this is a Nocholas's suggestion)

2) This issue seems to be fixed in the nnCron 1.91 RC1 ( http://www.nncron.ru/download/nncron191r1.exe )

this RC1 version does not fix this bug, in fact it seems to make it worse actually.

Code: Select all
0x000000 0xFFFFFF HINT-COLOR

this gives me 100% YELLOW text on black background, like this:
Image

Code: Select all
0x00222222 0x005555FF HINT-COLOR

this gives me DARK YELLOW text on a GREEN background, like this:

completely wrong!

yes thank you Nikolas, it is working now :D

can I ask -- why do you add the "padding" of extra '00' for R G B values like

0x00FFFFFF

why not just 0xFFFFFF

just curious!

I find it inside nnCron English Help ("help.chm") file dated 7-8-05:

Thanks for the info. This seems to be unnecessary and I'll fix the docs ASAP. BTW - the same goes to the osd.spf plugin.
