nnCron Lite - Missed tasks running multiple times - v1.17 !!

Postby bday » Fri, 05 Oct 2007, 06:57

G'day Folks,

I am experiencing repeated firing of tasks at startup under ver 1.17.
I read in the forums that this was believed to have been fixed under ver 1.17 ... but it has happened to me since I began using the startup (@) feature recently.

I believe that the problem only occurs with the use of the "@" prefix ...

Below are the 'cron' files & details of the OS etc which are usually requested when reporting a problem.

PLEASE NOTE:
(-) nnCron LITE. v 1.17 Build 119 09.06.2005
(NB: STARTS AS A SERVICE AT WINDOWS STARTUP!)
(-) OS: Win-XP Sp/2
(-) IE: 6 Sp/1 (ver 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp1.020828-1920IC)

(-) The computer 'wakes-up' at 6.15am, every day
(via BIOS, automatically)
(-) I first logged on today at approx 8:30am
(-) I had to shutdown & reboot the computer (via Task Manager) at approx 8:50am due to the repeated 'syncback' jobs being fired off...
(-) Whilst shutting down, I was forced to 'terminate' multiple jobs via the Task Manager - as they were preventing shutdown/restart....
(Over 100 jobs were listed at one point!)

The following files are listed below....
cron.out
cron.tab
cron.ini
cron.log
taskinfo.txt

NB: Email line-wrap may 'distort' the appearance of some of the lines. I can Zip the full version of these files and resend them if necessary.
(Please advise).

The data are just cut'n'pasted from the originals at the time of writing this email - via a plain text editor. The data was obtained, of course, after the system was rebooted!

Also, I do not understand why the problem does not immediately repeat on a (forced) reboot... However, this is a secondary matter and I am grateful that it doesn't recur in this way.

Can anyone please help with what is wrong?
My instinct says it is within nnCron....
Whilst I am quite willing to admit I have made an error in the cron.tab file, I have carefully checked it and I don't believe it is faulty.

Regards,
Barry
