Usage by limited user

Postby Frank » Sat, 10 May 2008, 11:05

I have used nnCron for some time and works well.
Due to viruses and rootkits I decided to create a limited user (other than the administrator) for my general computer usage. I have most of the authorizations ironed out except for nnCron.
How do I as a limited user, edit tasks, change options etc? They all work when logged in as administrator. I have Windows XP Pro SP2 and nnCron V1.91.
Thanks
Frank

Figured out how to do it.
Log in as administrator.
Set the 'user' security for the nnCron installation folder to have full control over the folder.
Not the best solution, but works for now.
Thank you

Hi There,

what i do:

nncron.ini (often forgotten), you can set the following

DefaultUser:
DefaultPassword:
DefaultDomain: zzz
DefaultLoadProfile OFF

Therefore, i run nncron as user with administrative permissions, but the actual user is running with 'Guest' permissions. I do have no virus protection on my public internet kiosks and never got a virus, nor having to deal with users installing software....

Hope this helps!
