[Newbie] Kill App

Postby pollux » Fri, 05 May 2006, 12:44

Hello!

Well I don't speak very well English so be kind please... :wink:

I've written a code to launch powerpoint's presentations every days on 7am and on 8pm I would kill the app and then pass in screensaver mode... How can I do?

I have the lite version

This is my code:
Code: Select all
@0 7 * * 1 "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\ppview32.exe" "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\01_Lundi.pps"
@0 7 * * 2 "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\ppview32.exe" "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\02_Mardi.pps"
@0 7 * * 3 "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\ppview32.exe" "C:\Program Files\cron\pps\03_Mercredi.pps"

  ... and so on....

Thanks for help!

If you use WinXP you can kill a process using taskkill command ( http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_tips446.html ). If you are using Win2000, try this tip: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/Art ... 13570.html .

taskkill - just do it!

Thanks a lot!

And then to pass in screensaver mode... Is it possible in version lite?

just start your favorite screensaver (usually a file with *.scr extension).

It is possible to switch off the screen? I saw that was possible in the standard edition... In Lite edition too?

nnCron LITE is just a Windows cron port - a plain scheduler. So (in general) there are no advanced automation and hardware controlling features available in nnCron, which is full-blown automation manager.

So - it is impossible to switch off the screen using nnCron LITE without using some standalone command line utility or extensive Forth programming.
