Restart results in a shutdown - bug?

Postby jpb2001 » Tue, 06 Jun 2006, 12:40

I am using the new WatchQueryShutdown functionality in nncron with INTERCEPT-SHUTDOWN and CONTINUE-SHUTDOWN commands.

When shutting down everything works perfectly. However, when I perform a restart the nncron script executes correctly but the computer then shuts down - it does not restart.

Is this a bug?

No. We just can not find an easy way to distinguish restart/shutdown when intercepting the comuter power-off...

So, if you like you can manually add FORCE-REBOOT to your task to reboot the PC every time after power-off intercepting...

Or you can press a specific key (or toggle Scroll Lock, for example) during restart and check if the key is pressed/toggled in your task. So - if the key is pressed - perform FORCE-REBOOT, if the key is not pressed - perform FORCE-SHUTDOWN.
