You've missed space after #( in the name of the task :) May be that's the problem.
Code: Select all
#( Log_Copy

)#

i dont think that is the problem seeing that i am using the TM.EXE to build the nncron Script for me. not sure what the problem might be, maybe it is not invoking the batch or when i use the nncron file copy there might be somehting not working properly. i am not a programmerso my trouble shooting techniques are limted on this subject.

z: - is a mapped network drive? if this is true - you should authorize the task to have access to the network.

for example use:

AsLoggedUser

the mapped drive has the credentials already stored so that is not the problem.

but if i need to, i just have a few questions on that. if i set a username and password that is not associated to the box or the current domain that i am in. will nncron still run.

i think i know what might be the problem, but this is why i stored the credentials within the mapped drive.

box1 is on a domain

box2 were the logs sit is within a workgroup

supplying the credentials within the cronn will not work. this is what i think nncron is doing. tell if i am wrong.

if i supply the credentials nncron lauches the program as the credentials supplied not the logged in user. which will cause a problem seeing the users does not have a domain account which in the end result cause an error.

now this is why i switched to a small batch file which has the copy command in it. so i have nncron invoke this small batch file, then hopeing this will launch the getlogfiles.bat, but when i start nncron i do not get an error it just seems to be running correctly. but i know that it is not seeing the files are not copied.

i figured out what was going on the cmd.exe was being launched right, i had to invoke something like this:

START-APP: Start /b /i C:\GetLogFiles.bat

the question that i have now is how i set the time to run every 6 months, on the first of each month.

i think the setting would be 0 6 1 6,12 * *

if not let me know.

Add SWHide option before START-APP.

ok i ran into another problem. The seeting as logged in user works great but if i am not logged in. well it will not run. i have tried setting useing a specific profile and also tried interactive, batch, and Network. i have even tried loading the profile to see if that helps but to no end keep runnning into a wall.

i am stumped on this one. i though the Profile would allow this to work but it seems that the profile is not loading correctly. anythough would be great assistance.

thanks,

Have you tried User: <user_name> and Password: <password> settings?

Yes i have tried that. here is what it looks like:

#( Get_files
AsLoggedUser <-- i have changed this to user: admin Password: ******
Action:
StartIn: "C:\"
ShowNormal NormalPriority
AsService
QSTART-APPW: Start /b /i C:\GetLogFiles.bat
)#

this is the only one tha ti got to work when i was logged in but it is set to use as logged in user.

this one does not work for me at all:

LoadProfile
User: "Administrator" SecPassword: "**********" Domain: "SERVER" LogonInteractive
Action:
StartIn: "C:\"
ShowNormal NormalPriority
AsService
START-APP: C:\GetLogFiles.bat
